Eva's identity is sort of cloudy. Family has always said that Wesley Hudson married Eva Kimball. Their marriage record records her as Eva Gillespie in 1925. In the 1920 census, Eva Gilespie is living with her father, Charles Kingwell, in Jefferson, Ouachita Co., Arkansas. The facts in that census match - age, place of birth, parents places of birth - so I believe this is her. She is listed as married, not widowed, with an 8 year old daughter Lela.

So, the Lela in the 1930 census is a step-daughter to Wesley (or the reason Eva was with her parents rather than her husband).

While her tombstone says she was born in 1930, the fact that she is in the census in 1930 means it must have been in 1929 (as calculated by the census).

Additionally, a Social Security claim was made that suggested her birth date was 8 Oct 1927, which is also wrong. That claim put Prescott in Hempstead County, too.
