    Notes:

The 1910 census lists her as Marie L. Savant. Other records have an I. Her tomb stone says Marie Louise.

    Census:
In the 1910 census, James is not enumerated with is family. He must be living elsewhere or traveling as a preacher.

The 1910 census lists her has being married for 20 years, married once, with three children born but only one living.

Living in Arkansas in 1910 could be explained if Bettie is in school at the Ouchita college. She starts as a school teacher shortly after this. And the college in Conway is one that her grandfather started.

But why was she living in Norman, Oklahoma while James was in little towns further south? Was it a health thing or something else?

    Died:
In the 1920 Census, J.R. Cason is listed as a widower.

Newspaper account indicate Bettie was called away by her mother's death and a stone for Marie is in Norman.

Marie married James R. Graves Cason on 1 Oct 1888 in Saint Landry, Louisiana, United States. James (son of Rev. Jeremiah Harris Cason and Elizabeth Cooper) was born on 31 Oct 1858 in Wilson, Tennessee, United States; died on 30 Oct 1926 in Henryetta, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, United States; was buried on 1 Nov 1926 in Henryetta, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, United States. Notes:

Bettie Clay Cason is not the same person as Bettie Clay who married Ned Paulk. This Bettie Clay apparently married a Wade, according to her father's obituary.

Before marriage, she taught school in Wetumka and in Henryetta.

I have not yet found this marriage or any children from it.

    Misc:
Miss Bettie Clay Cason of Dustin, Oklahoma arrived in the city this morning and is a guest of Miss Lida Higgs.
