  • Notes
    • From Cathy Myers Mattix: Arthur Patterson worked at various jobs after high school. He married Martha Quintana, who immigrated from Chihuahua, Mexico as a child and they had one son, Arthur Frederick. Arthur Patterson became a watchmaker. During the Depression, times were bad and he obtained money to open a business in California. He set up a bookstore in Glendale, CA. He allowed some Patterson cousins to run it while he was preparing his family for a move. They needed income so he allowed them to assume ownership of that business and opened another bootstore, The Booknook, in Pasadena, CA, which he ran until the late 1980s.
