Notes - Mr. Dickson,
I was researching John F. Williams brother of Britton S. Williams, John's death at Vicksburg specifically, when I found your email address. Britton moved to Sebastian county, AR. He was killed by bushwhackers during or after the CW. His son, Hiram Hampton Williams, my great grandfather was a CW veteran and a wagon maker in Fort Smith. His son, George Williams became a U.S. Deputy Marshal for the Federal Court for the Western District of Arkansas during the tenure of Isaac C. Parker.
I am just beginning genealogy and I hope you enjoy this information. It is oral tradition in my family.
