Henry B. Ware[1, 2]
1813 - 1898 (84 years)-
Name Henry B. Ware Birth 29 Jul 1813 Greene, Georgia, United States [3, 4, 5] Gender Male Misc 1843 Leon, Florida Territory, United States [6] Trustee of Methodist Episcopal Church, Leon Circuit - 1843, 21st Session of Florida Legislature, p. 50. Trustee of Methodist Episcopal Church, Leon Circuit
Census 25 Sep 1850 Harrison, Texas, United States [7] Census 30 Sep 1850 Harrison, Texas, United States [3] - In the 1850 Census, Henry is listed as a farmer with $11,200 worth of real estate.
Interestingly, even with this large of a land holding, I cannot find Henry in the 1850 slave schedule of the census. His neighbors are all listed but I don't see Henry.
Census 6 Sep 1860 Marshall, Harrison, Texas, United States [8, 9] - In 1860, Henry is listed as a farmer with $23,000 worth of real estate and $80,000 worth of personal property. He is listed as owning 28 slaves.
Census 1 Jun 1870 Iberville, Louisiana, United States [10] - In 1870, Henry is listed as a planter with $70,000 worth of real estate.
In addition to the family, there is a J..> Everitt listed in the home, age 25. This seems likely to be a nephew of Martha.

Father Thomas Ware, b. Abt 1770, Maryland, United States d. 19 Jan 1859, Colorado, Texas, United States (Age ~ 89 years) Mother Mary Sarah Jimerson, b. 17 Jan 1776, Rockbridge, Virginia, United States d. Bef 27 Aug 1817, Greene, Georgia, United States (Age < 41 years) Marriage 1796 Talladega, Talladega, Alabama, United States [12] - U.S. marriage records says that this occurred in Georgia. In 1796, Alabama was a part of Georgia, I think.
This hardly seems the likely place for this marriage. Talladega was frontier country. The Jimersons and the Wares were well established on the eastern side of Georgia and did not seem to be heading out to the west to get married.

Notes - Lived in Harrison County, TX, about 9 miles from Marshall, in 1845. Successful raising cotton. Entered cotton brokerage business after the Civil War. Moved to New Orleans. Retired to Pass Christian, MS.
In 1840, there is a Henry B Ware in Leon County, Florida. The household has just a husband and wife (both 30-40 yrs) and 31 slaves. Seems unlikely that this is our family.
However, we ought to be able to find him in 1840 and 1880 census.
