- There really seems to be some confusion around Daniel.
The FTM user, below, shows a marraige in 1786 and another in 1790. Even assuming that all the children are from the second marriage, they show children born as late as 1827. That's an unnaturally long time for having kids. I would expect some of these later children are really grand children.
If Daniel was born in 1754, he is still marrying a little late at 1790 (36) and 1786 (32). But he did serve in the Revolution beforehand, so that likely delayed marriage.
Were there any children from the first marriage?
An addtional question is when they arrived in Georgia and via what path? We find Daniel and his family in Washington County in 1805. Some children are given a birth place of GA, but we have yet to find any proof that they were in Georgia by then. Daniel appeared in the 1790 census in Maryland. We need to research in Maryland to see when he disappears from the records or when he appears to sell out to move.
Washington County records have huge early gaps, as do many of the counties between Washington County and the Savannah River. Daniel does not appear in the statewide index of land grants. So, we need to find additional records to identify where he was between 1790 (Census in MD) and 1804 (Lottery in GA).
Additionally, we need to track down the lottery grant to see if it was redeemed and what happened to it. It would have been in Baldwin, Wilkinson, or Warren county
