• Notes

  She operated a seamstress shop in Waxahachie for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church. She had lived in Forreston & Waxahachie for 16 years and Ellis County for 35 years when she died. Mary J. Flowers is hard it track down. Her death certificat gives no information on parents. Findagrave for Andrew J Flowers, her purported father, makes it seem that there may have been more than one A. J. Flowers and more than one Mary J. Flowers. Anyway, the one that I found in Findagrave and in the 1900 Census does not appear to be the right one. Lacking good records close to her birth, it is so far hard to find her parents. There was even an Andrew J. Flowers from Waco who died in a training accident with the army in 1898, training for the Spanish American War.
