These were both assigned to other people. One was redeemed in Choctaw County by Henry Bannon. The other was redeemed in Missouri in 1859.

- Household number 1865, just 4 down from Mary Phelps Deshazo, and the only Phelps in Choctaw or surrounding counties.
There is a Matilday Phelps, age 43, living next door. I suspect that this is the widow of one of the older Phelps sons.
This census says he has $300 of real property and $530 of personal property. That sounds like he owns land. But I have not found a deed yet.
