659 Another Fire
Prescott, October 28 -
The barn of Dr. A.D. Wren, a prominent citizen of Albany Township living eight or ten miles south of Prescott, was burned yesterday together with all his corn (500 bushels) and between 4,000 and 5,000 bundles of fodder.

The fire is believed to have been incendiary in origin. The Doctor and all his family were in Prescott except his son Willard who went to the neighboring Postoffice after dinner leaving no one at home. There was no insurance.

Dr. Wren lives near the edge of the cyclone district that had all its crop prospect destroyed last spring and he was very active at that time in efforts to relieve the sufferers. He is a foremost citizen, a prominent Democrat, and wields an influence in his neighborhood.

Respectfully, E.R.A.
Wren, Alonzo Dossey (I6659)

660 Anson is listed as a porter at the shoe factory. He lists that he his married rather than widowed or divorced, but Clara is not a part of the family at this point. Jenkins, Anson Witherell (I7073)

661 Anson is listed as widowed. This explains the confusion in the 1930 census. He *was* married, but was currently widowed.

Rotha is listed as his ward, since she was actually the niece of his deceased wife.

Also in the home is a boarder, the son of Russian immigrants, and a house keeper.
Jenkins, Anson Witherell (I7073)

662 Apparently unmarried Little, Ruth (I9732)

664 Apparently, after his death, his oldest three children selected or had appointed John Faver Sr as guardian. Presumably they may have lived with him. The younger three by 1841 were in Mississippi and had a guardian appointed there. That means that they must have moved there, maybe with their mother. Faver, John (I2875)

667 Apparently, her father did not approve of her marriage to Daniel R. Barnes. In his will, he left her share of his estate in the hands of the executor, providing her the income from it but not the property itself. If he dies, she gets the property. If she dies, the children get the property after he dies. Marshall, Mary Ann (I9543)

668 Apparently, Mary was pregnant when Wiley died. This would put WileyJr's birth early in 1863. Dennard, Wiley (I2474)

669 Apparently, some of the Favers were living in Mississippi in about 1840. There are account records in the guardianship accounting of Frances in 1841 for expenses for the return to Alabama from Mississippi. Faver, Frances (I2870)

670 Apparently, the divorce didn't stick. After a month, they remarried. Family: Alonzo George Wren / Amanda Jane Woodul (F317)

671 Apparently, this marriage did not work out so well. In a letter from Jere Will's mother Lida to her good friend Ida, dated 4 May 1932, she described the marriage as a "ghastly mistake". It was short lived and ended in divorce with no children. Langley, Mary Pauline (I9273)
