552 Administration granted to K.M. Gray

At the end of 1869, the estate was still not closed. They had sent citations to Lafayette county with no reply. It looks like the case may have moved to Lafayette for administration.

In the meantime, there is a gap from 1869 to 1872 in Pontotoc. The 1872 records have no internal index so no records have been found yet.

573 After moving to Florida and having a plantation there, it seems like Aylesbury may have kept a house in town as well. The Elizabeth F. Hopkins collection has a number of records that might be helpful.

There are no Shehee's in the index to the Court of Ordinary records in Thomas County 1828-1908.

588 Albert is listed as a widower, age 27. Susan is single and 26. The marriage was witnessed by "The family & friends of the Bride and a large company at 309 3rd St, NY" Family: Albert L. Blowers / Susan Jane Ward (F2572)

589 Alex is recorded as having 4 slaves
1 M age 45
1 F age 45
1 F age 7
1 F age 6
Vincent, Alexander A. (I6262)

590 Alexander is taxed for 1 poll, so he is at least 18 years old. Vincent, Alexander A. (I6262)

591 Alfred and Nancy are recorded as Alfred and Nancy Huckleberry

Strangely, Alfred & Nancy are enumerated twice on the same day twice on the same page. It almost looks like the first on was scratched out and recrded a second time. In the second instance, there is a mary Gray in the house with a daughter Etta E Gray and maybe another sister Jane Gray. Next door is an Andrew Gray that does not necessarily fit into that family.
Huckaby, Alfred (I3706)

592 Alfred claims to be 55 years old, when he's more like 60. Family: Alfred Huckaby / Sarah A. (F3675)

593 Alfred Huckaby may have sold all of his property by 1886. His second wife had her estate in probate with no mention at all of him in any way. That indicated that he must have pre-deceased her. But, to date, no record of his death has been found.

There is a grave stone in Springdale, Washington County, Arkansas for an A. Huckaby, b 1822, d 1898. But there are also many Huckaby families in Washington County. This is 100 miles away with no good reason for this to be his grave. Moreover, there is a short obituary that says he wife had recently died. Alfred's wife died in 1888, ten years previous. I can find no reason to believe the Springdale grave is his.
Huckaby, Alfred (I3706)

594 Alfred purchased land in Tuscaloosa county in 1848.

595 Alfred R. Brochu Sr.

A graveside service for Alfred Robert Brochu Sr., 64, of Lake of the Woods will be held at 9 a.m. Friday in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove.

Mr. Brochu died Wednesday, Jan. 20, at his home. Born in Uxbridge, Mass., he had retired after 20 years in the Navy. He was also an electronics engineer.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Wren Brochu; three sons, Alfred Robert Brochu Jr. of Virginia Beach, John Russell Brochu of Lake of the Woods and William Townsend Brochu of Springfield; three daughters, Nancy Brochu Domedion of Herndon, Robin G. Brochu Prausa of Centreville and Shawn Shaffer of Warrenton; a brother Norman Brochu; a sister Rita Brochu Hitching of Groton, Conn., 13 grandchildren, six nieces and four nephews.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice Support Care, 1616 Stafford Ave., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.

Brochu, Alfred Robert Sr. (I10039)

596 Alfred seems awfully old so I am somewhat skeptical of his birth date. This must have been a second marriage for him since he was nearly 50when he married. Also, he continues to father children until he isnearly 70. Daniel, Alfred (I2324)

597 Alfred's farm is small in 1850 - 2 cows, 7 pigs, total value of $35.
The line immediately above is Jacob Sartain.
Sartain, Alfred M. (I5458)

598 Alice was beaten to death by her husband, Jack. He was arrested and found guilty, but I have not found a sentence for the case. Ritchie, Alice Morrison (I9424)

599 All of her estate is given to her adopted daughter Mary.

Since there is no mention of Alfred, he may have already died.
Sarah A. (I9622)

600 All of the children are listed as born in Miss. So, it kind of looks like they moved to Miss and back to AR. Then, possibly, they moved back to MS since he is buried in MS.

He is next door to his brother Ira Alonzo
