4951 Thomas served as justice of Henrico (1678), sheriff (1680, 1688),coroner (1680), and Burgess (1677).

Connie Lapallo notes his spouse as Margaret Powell and notes that she was the mother of William. This could be a composite of the two spouses or just a different name. She also notes Thomas death as 1697.

Notes from findagrave.com
Son of Lt. Col. Richard Cocke and Temperance (Baley) Cocke.

Married to Agnes Margaret Powell in 1663.

Their children were James, William, Stephen, Thomas, John, Stephen, Temperance, and Agnes.

Also married to Margaret (Wood) Cocke.

Of Bremo, and Malvern Hills; known as Captain Thomas Cocke, Sr., of Henrico; Sheriff, 1680-1688; member of County Court at various times, and otherwise prominent in the affairs of the colony; his will dated, 1689; probably died soon after.

The Genealogy of the Cocke Family in Virginia source shows that he died 1696, page 106.

It appears that he lived at "Malvern Hills," (His father had lived at Bremo (probably an Indian name), which his brother, Richard, inherited.)

Of "Pickthorn Farm" and "Malvern Hills," Henrico Co., Virginia.

Thomas Cocke, so far as extant records reveal, was the first child bearing the name Cocke to be born in Colonial Virginia.

Father: Richard Cocke
Mother: Temperance Bailey

Married to Margaret Wood 1662 in Virginia
•Note: The Genealogy of the Cocke Family in Virginia source shows that he married Margaret Jones Wood, 1663, widow, and mother of Major Peter Jones, founder of Petersburg, page 106.
