| This census enumeration just uses initials and Senetta is listed as P. Huckaby. | Huckaby, Terilda Emiline (I3711)
| This census records that he was 26 at the time of his first marriage. However, he would have been 21 when he and Cora married and 37 when he and Fannie married. | Ross, Charles Franklin (I5410)
| This child died young. | Cocke (I1754)
| This child is uncertain, but Dorman lists him as possible. Therecould likely have been other children. Anderson Cocke was musician in the 4th Virginia Regiment, 1776-1778 | Cocke, Anderson (I1769)
| This child is uncertain. | Baird, Anna (I700)
| This child is uncertain. | Baird, John Jr. (I709)
| This child was unborn at the making of the father's will. It alsodied in infancy. | Cocke (I1755)
| This could be the same Lemuel Hames who married Elizabeth Page in 1858. | Hames, Lemuel (I9455)
| This daughter of F.P. Hudson is sometimes seen as Vinona, Vinora, or Venorah. Her tombstone says Venorah. In the 1900 census, she is listed as Norah. As far as children go, the 1900 Census reports that George and Norah have been married for 10 years. That is in conflict with the marriage record we found in 1895. There is a son, aged 12 named Robert in the 1900 census as well. He is listed as a son of George Matthews. It is possible that he is a son from a previous marriage. But, the census reports that Norah has had only child and that child is still alive. If that is the case, where is the child? The 1910 census clears this mystery up somewhat in that it says that Venorah has had no children. So Robert must be a child of George's from a previous marriage. He is also listed as having been married twice. | Hudson, Venorah I. (I3783)
| This deed calls out that Robert Ware Senr is purchasing this land. This means that there is also a Robert Ware Jr living in the area. | Ware, Robert (I9131)
| This deed details Elizabeth as daughter of Robert Marshall and widow of John Hill and wife of John Clark and mother of Evalina B Hill. From the way the deed is written, selling Francis claim on Elizabeth's estate, it appears that she is still alive, though John Clark appears to be already dead. | Marshall, Elizabeth (I4429)
| This deed says that both parties and the land are in Craven County, but it also talks about land on the Saluda River, which is in Ninety Six District and Laurens County. Craven is an extinct county and was eliminated when the seven original judicial districts were created. | Cason, Thomas (I1576)
| This deed shows William H Bailey and Mary his wife selling land that adjoins Shipwith, who later own sues Peter Bailey. However, it lists William as residing in Charlotte Co. Perhaps he moved there for a time after his marriage. In this case, he sells a plot of 32 acres on Little Bluestone Creek for $500. This seems a very high price for this land. | Bailey, William H. (I698)
| This deed was made out in Bibb County, Alabama for land in Putnam County, Georgia previously owned by Lewis Deshazo | Deshazo, Larkin (I2506)
| This deed was witnessed by Beninijah Marshall. This hints strongly at a relation between Robert and the other Marshalls in the County. | Marshall, Capt. Robert (I4431)
| This deed was witnessed by Robert Ware Jr. Mary Ann was always referred to as Mary Ann C and signed her name as Mary Ann C Taliaferro | Ware, Robert (I9131)
| This deed, made 14 Nov 1831 between Francis Bailey on the first part, Lingnal Jones on the 2nd part, and John W Lewis on the 3rd part. Francis Baker Bailey is indebted to Lingnal Jones for the sum of about $75 plus interest by a bond. John Lewis pays to Francis Baker Bailey one dollar to fulfill the bond. Francis Baker Bailey's wife Evalina is the former Evalina Hill, daughter of John Hill dec'd. As a part of his will, his wife Elizabeth received a dower right to the land, negroes, and other property. Elizabeth married John Clark, who is also dead. This deed confirms that Francis Baker Bailey is married to Evalina Hill, who is the daughter of John Hill. It also confirms that Elizabeth is John's widow, that she remarried to John Clark, and that he has died as well. In this deed, Francis Baker Bailey is selling part of this property. | Bailey, Francis Baker (I602)
| This family is the only one where a Mary J. Sartain of the right age appears. However, many researchers show that Mary Jane Sartain died in 1874 unmarried. The only references to her marriage are to a Benj. Sexton or link to my previous guess of a marriage to Thomas M. Higgs (which seems to be incorrect). A search of the 1860 census in the area where the family lived in 1870 shows many of the neighbors, but not any of the Sartains (generally indexed as Lartain in 1860) or Sextons that connected to Sartains. | Sartain, Alfred M. (I5458)
| This has been shown as about 1785 and about 1781. | Page, Richard (I4909)
| This has been shown in some places as 1829, but if the will was proved and recorded in 1823, then the death must be 1823. | Hames, William (I3273)
| This is a guess based on her marriage year | Council, Charlotte (I9642)
| This is a guess based on his witnessing a will in 1776 and the 1830 census (which seems pretty high for his age) | Council, Jesse (I9639)
| This is a long and complicated deed with a number of parties. Peter sells multiple tracts of land, acquired from multiple parties, to satisfy debts due from suits in Superior Court to Bruce & Sydnor. | Bailey, Peter Cock (I660)
| This is a messed up census entry. It's right at the end of the district and it seems that the census taker has stuck some corrections at the end. Ancestry seems to try to group them with Tennison. Brady is listed as a baker. | Tennison, Brady Lee (I5946)
| This is a second marriage for both parties. The census says she has had 1 child and it is still living. | Almand, Portia C. (I349)
| This is a transcription of the church minutes from 1843 until 1993along with a church history. | Source (S77)
| This is a two-page, hand-written list of dates of birth for the children of Francis Baker Bailey. Written in ink on blue, lined paper, it appears to date from the mid 1860s, perhaps. It likely was written by Hume F. Bailey, himself. It appears to have all been written at the same time. | Source (S608)
| This is from the Ancestral file. I have seen no other reference to this William. I do not trust it particularly. | Hames, William III (I6495)
| This is likely not completely true. All indications show that he might have worked at the armory, making pistols maybe, but was not in charge. | Bailey, Otway Licepious (I656)
| This is not the daniel who went to Arkansas. He was already there by the time this Daniel was born. | Huckaby, Daniel (I10154)
| This is part of an on-going dispute over property lines. Peter Bailey vs Samuel Lockett. Upon a Writ of Right A jury trial finds in favor of Samuel Lockett | Bailey, Peter Cock (I660)
| This is recorded as Cole Twp, Choctaw Lands, Indian Territory, but in the Arkansas census. It's right on the border between Oklahoma and Arkansas. | Bailey, Thomas B. (I690)
| This is recorded in the transcription from the Tallahassee land office, but I cannot find a patent for it or any other deed. | Shehee, Aylesbury (I5568)
| This is Sarah's 2nd marriage. She was previously married to Merrow. | Family: Walter S. Hooper / Sarah Oldham Peterson (F1460)
| This is the 1890 Census of Veterans. He is listed as a private, Co A, 5th Ky Infantry, enlisting on 1 Nov 1861 and mustering out on 4 Nov 1864 | Dunn, Thomas (I9737)
| This is the second marriage for both Elizabeth and for William. | Family: William Snydor / Elizabeth Cocke (F1925)
| This is the second of Peter's three marriages. The first and thirdwives' names are unknown. | Family: Peter Cocke / Mary Whitehead (F2049)
| This is very preliminary. John W Phelps and family are located just a few houses away from the Deshazos in 1860. There is a single sister in the home in 1860 named Druscilla, a very uncommon name, but also the name of Mary's daughter. I believe this is the father of Mary F.E. Phelps Deshazo. There is a marriage record for John W. Phelps to Dicey Brightwell 27 Dec 1825 in Pittsylvania Co, Virginia, page 84. "Virginia, Vital Records, 1715-1901", database, FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6NKF-C3YG : 26 April 2023), John W Phelps, 1825. Before accepting that, I need to prove that she is in fact Brightwell and that they werein fact in that area. In the 1820 census, there is a William Philps enumerated in Pittsylvania County, Virginia that could fill the bill as John's father. Checked Henderson County Tennessee - substantial record loss, apparently. No old records. Checked Yalobusha County MS. District 1 Index to Deeds - Direct - Not found District 1 Index to Deeds - Reverse - C - 247 (Phillips) - Does not appear to be him. District 2 Index to Deeds - Direct & Indirect - Not found John W. Phelps appears in the Pittsylvania tax lists annually until 1826. After that, he no longer appears. By 1830, he appears in the Henderson County, TN census. Jason Brightwell appears in 1822 and continues through 1829. William and Samuel Phelps appear in 1823, William in 1822. | Phelps, John Wimbush (I10096)
| This is very strange. In October 1928, Brady & Evelyn get a license and get married in front of a JP in Muskogee. The marriage is recorded. Then, in July 1929, they go to Claremore, Rogers County, Oklahoma and get a new license and are married by a Methodist minister. There is sufficient gap between even the 2nd marriage and the birth of the first child to make it clear that she was not pregnant with either of their surviving children. So, what's up? | Family: Brady Lee Tennison / Ada Evelyn Neal (F2923)
| This John G. Wood could be the son of Elias Wood, enumerated close toWesley Hudson in 1850. | Wood, John G. (I6621)
| This land is a part of a grant to Zebulon Mathis, John Miller's son-in-law. | Miller, John (I4650)
| This letter, written in July of 1899, lists the birth, death, andmarriage dates for Wesley and Betsy Hudson and their children. | Source (S40)
| This looks odd... | Shiflett, John Franklin (I5606)
| This lot appears to have been the business location. It was purchases as tenants on common with Osborn Stone from Daniel Stone(?) by Ware & Stone in 1815. With this deed, Robert Ware sells his interest in the lot to his partner Osborne Stone. | Ware, Robert (I9131)
| This marriage could have taken place in NC or GA. | Family: Labun Lane / (F6)
| This marriage is not proven. Dorman says it is possible. | Branch, Mary (I1151)
| This marriage is not proven. Dorman says it is possible. | Family: John Cocke / Mary Branch (F2126)
| This marriage is recorded in the town of Newton, but it was listed as occurring at Wellesley Lower Falls, now a part of the town of Wellesley. It is hard to read Phillipe's middle name, along with the parents names. He is listed as being 24 years old, his first marriage, from Quincy and a riveter. She is 23, her first marriage, and from Newton, and a domestic. | Family: Phillippe Remerl Doucette / Catherine Isidore Chiasson (F1414)
