She told Edward (three year old son) she would fall asleep after taking the pills and that he should go to the neighbors (Ginns or Gerins) and tell them that she was asleep. Will was logging." When the neighbors got there, Etta was dead. My grandfather, mother, and Edward then moved into the home of my grandmother. Etta may be buried in Redland. She was only 23 years of age. She was there until 20 Dec 1956. Was delivered by a Dr. Mc Brayer. Said she was 16 months old when her mother died. She lived with her grandmother until age 8. Went to a Baptist church in Haworth with aunt and uncle. Said her grandparents, the Pettigrews, would go by on their way to church and take her along. Her father didn't let her have anything to do with them. She was discharged from Central State Hospital in 1956. Lived in a nursing home the rest of her life.
