3160 | Just to cause more confusion, Norvelle & Mildred, who presumably were familiar with these people and not with the census records, said that Ruby Purtle married first Dendy and then Spears. However, there is also a Ruby Dendy, age 11, found in the 1920 census of Jackson Parish, Louisiana. She was also born in Arkansas. Several trees on Ancestry and Findagrave claim that she was the person who married P. Jackson Spears in 1931. However, I will trust Mildred & Norvelle over a census record on this one. It does not appear that Ruby had children in either of her marriages. | Purtle, Ruby (I5217)
