2460	Hugh is enumerated in the 1830 census in Knox Co., Tennessee -200001-00001. But, in both 1850 and 1830, there is a Hugh L Berry, of about the same age, enumerated in Knox County, TN. But, in 1850, Hugh C. Berry was in Alabama. So I am skeptical that the Hugh Berry of Knox Co., TN is actually this person in 1830. 2461	Hume Bailey was a devoted Union sympathizer during the Civil War. Since he was a widower with young sons, he was exempted by the Union army from service (Ft. Smith being a Union stronghold in an otherwise Confederate state). However, the Confederate army, when it moved into that part of Arkansas forced him to enlist on the threat of death. Susan Dickson says that he may have enlisted and then deserted at the first opportunity. In the compiled service records, there are two jackets for H.F. Bailey, but no firm places are listed and the service appears to have been short in the Confederate army in any case. More research is needed. Interestingly, there are a number of letters written to Hume F. Hill of Memphis, TN. These appear to be an uncle of Hume F. Bailey - the brother of his mother, perhaps.	Bailey, Hume Field (I614)

2475	I am not sure where this death date came from. But, in litigation against Peter in the 1830s, Sarah is mentioned over and over as a plaintiff. I believe that she was certainly alive into the mid-1830s. This needs to be detailed out. In particular, deeds made in 1830 (Deed book 24, Mecklenburg County, p. 108) Peter Bailey and Sarah his wife sell land. By the 1840 census, it appears that Peter is living with Elizabeth M.A. Bailey and her husband, but there is no older woman in the home. Unless she is living with other family in 1860 or 1870, I believe that she died between 1855 and 1860. I also believe that this is around the time that Henry decides to move. 2484	I am unable to locate Alexander A. Vincent in the Tennessee 1850 Census. Originally, I had recorded Alex' uncle Alex A. Vincent as the guardian of Adolphus and Peyton. But he died before the guardianship ended and there was no mention of a change in guardian. It makes more sense to have the older brother be the guardian in any case. 2496	I have always heard Ronualde or seen his name this way, but Phillipe's marriage record says Remerl and has the same for his middle name. LDDM says his name was in fact Romaulde. I think I believe the marriage records, though. There seems to be some confusion as to the two wives of Romaulde Doucet. The LDDM says his first wife, and the mother of all of his children was Helene LeBlanc and his second wife was Bridget Roger. However, they give a marriage date of 23 Feb 1870 for the second marriage. Five children were born by the time of the second marriage and 9 additional after the date of the second marriage. 2497	I have always thought that John had to have died by 1889 because his wife remarried to Jack A. Jones in 1890. However, he appears in the 1892 list of voters who have paid the poll tax. If he paid a poll tax in 1892, he had to be alive. That means that perhaps there was a divorce between him and Martha. Or the record of the voter list is wrong. 2499	I have gone back and forth as to whether this is Peter C or Peter A Bailey. Based on the fact that there is a male 40-50 in the house, I believe it to be Peter C. That age is actually low for Peter C. He should be in the 50-60 bucket (like the WF enumerated), or even 60-70 if his Revolutionary Pension deposition is to be believed.
