1307 DEATH: His death is noted in the Paulding New Era newspaper on 25 Oct 1889. He fell, cut his head on a fence and died. The story is recounted as follows: "Uncle Wesley Hudson of this county departed life last Wednesday night at nine o'clock. He fell against the fence the day before and received the wound on his head that caused his death and was interred at the Lane grave yard yesterday evening. The deceased was over 80 years old and the writer spent a part of the day with him last Saturday and he remarked that he knew his time here was very short and said further that he had decided for some time to live as near in the path of duty as he could and to do all of the good that he could but we did not know that his time was so short. He was everybody's friend but a special friend of the writer and we are sad on account of his departure." Hudson, Wesley (I3785)

There is a lot of discussion about who was a Butler and who as not in this family. Ruth Bell noted many of these children named as Butler,and then concluded that Nancy David must have been a Butler as well. Until this is resolved, I will avoid the Butler names.

Came in AR in 1859 in a 100 wagon train from Newton Co, GA.

David Butler Almand was a Primitive Baptist minister. One of his churches was the Friendship church near Cale, Nevada County, Arkansas, for which he donated the land for the church and its cemetery.
