    Also seen as Brady Len.

    Birth:
Brady is reported as 35 in the 1940 census

    Census:
This is a messed up census entry. It's right at the end of the district and it seems that the census taker has stuck some corrections at the end. Ancestry seems to try to group them with Tennison.

Brady is listed as a baker.

    Birth:
The annulment of her marriage says she was born on 24 August.

    Buried:
    https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/130467198/evelyn-n-tennison

    Notes:

    Married:
This is very strange. In October 1928, Brady & Evelyn get a license and get married in front of a JP in Muskogee. The marriage is recorded.

Then, in July 1929, they go to Claremore, Rogers County, Oklahoma and get a new license and are married by a Methodist minister.

There is sufficient gap between even the 2nd marriage and the birth of the first child to make it clear that she was not pregnant with either of their surviving children.

    So, what's up?

    Annulled:
Since Ada Evelyn was only 16, she was not legally competent to get married in 1928. So, when her dad found out, he immediately went to court to have the marriage annulled.

    Children:
    1. Dorothy Tennyson
    2. 1. Brady Lee Tennyson, Jr.

    Notes:

    Birth:
Some sources give his birth year as 1883, but his draft registration, which he personally provided, says 1881. I think I actually believe 1883.

    Census:
The 1900 census records his birth at Jan 1883 rather than Jan 1881.

    Notes:

    Census:
The 1910 census says she and Larkin have been married for 8 years, and that Effie has had 4 children, 2 of whom are still living.

    Notes:

    Divorce Filed:
Larkin filled for divorce from Effie based on his claims that she continually abused him. Effie cross-files for divorce from Larkin, claiming that he was drunk and abusive. No resolution was found in the court filings.

    Notes:

Lived in AR, around Polk county. Had a saw mill with Zenas TENNYSON. Bill died of blood poisoning. He got a splinter building a table. His wife took the splinter out with a needle. He then went on that day to butcher a hog. Perhaps he got infected then.

1870 Census lists him as Wm. J.B. Tennison and says he was born in Alabama.

    Ref: [,1970,gm1]

    Died:
Why does this say Yell County? I thought he lived around Polk County. In 1880, he was in Pike County.

John married Mary Susan Druscilla Deshazo in 1874 in Choctaw, Mississippi, United States. Mary (daughter of Rev. John Walker Deshazo and Mary Frances Elizabeth Phelps) was born in Feb 1858 in Eupora, Choctaw, Mississippi, United States; died after 1905 in Arkansas, United States; was buried in Stigler, Haskell, Oklahoma, United States. • Misc: 21 Oct 1902, Stigler, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, United States; Rejected claim as member of Mississippi Choctaw Nation

    Notes:

Mary Susan Druscilla was 16 when she was married. The marriage to John W.B. Tennyson was not well thought of by either set of parents. To solve the problem of no consent, they sent a black man to the courthouse to get the marriage license. When he came back with it,they just crossed out the race, changed it to white, and got married. This marriage record has not yet been found, but it could be recorded as either black or white. Her first marriage could have been in Choctaw or Pontotoc Co, MS. After J.W.B. Tennyson died, she remarried to Mr. Phillips. He was not well liked by the first family and was regarded as a mean person by his stepchildren.

    Ref: [,1970,gm1]

    Birth:
Her second marriage lists that she was about 30 years old.

    Census:
The 1900 census lists her as Susan Phillips and her children Frank and Larkin as Phillips, though they retained the name Tennyson. She is listed as widowed, born Feb 1858 in Mississippi. She had had 5 children, 4 of whom are still living. All of these facts match the rest of what we know about her already.

    Residence:
"Mrs. M.S. Phillips has returned from Lancaster, where she went to visit her father J.W. Deshazo."

    1. Viola Tennison was born on 19 Jul 1875 in Winona, Montgomery, Mississippi, United States; died on 19 Aug 1970 in Fort Smith, Sebastian, Arkansas, United States; was buried on 21 Aug 1970 in Hackett, Sebastian, Arkansas, United States.
