According to Bible records collected by Merritt Graves from Alex Cooper Cason III, Alexander Vincent and Sophia/Saffira had 8 children. The DAR papers for Juanita Martha Alexander Hunter indicate that Alexander Vincent was born about 1744 and died in 1808 in Murfreesboro, Rutherford Co., TN.

Alexander Vincent signed the Oath of Allegiance in 1778 in Granville Co., NC. He received 9 pounds specie according to report number 84 (undated, report no. 83 was dated July 1873, report no. 85 was dated 1 May 1784). Alexander Vincent is shows holding 640 acres in Granville Co., NC on page 32 of A. Pruitt's Abstracts of Land Entries, Granville County, NC 1778-1877

Alexander was call Sander in the family Bible.

Alexander and Seffira had four sons whose names are known, plus an unknown son and five daughters. All of their children were born in Granville Co, NC according to the family Bible.

Thomas Vinson of Northampton Co sells to David Vinson of Granville Co, for 40 lbs current money of Virginia, the property where Nicholas Hill lived in Granville on Sandy Creek, 62 acres. Thomas Vinson acquired it from Ralph Mason on 18 Feb 1746.

Lord Granville was granted 1/8 of the colony (North & South Carolina) by George II in 1744. Out of this, Granville made leases to planters. Peter Vincent has paid 3 shillings proclamation money, land on both sides of Cedar Creek, 400 acres. Woods, timber, hunting and fishing rights and mining are granted. However, the Crown reserves 1/4 of all gold and silver mined and Lord Granville reserves 1/2 of the remaining 3/4 of all gold and silver mined. Annual rent shall be 3 shillings sterling or 4 shillings proclamation money per 100 acres. Due each year at the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Feast of St. Michael (half at each). Peter will clear and cultivate at least 3 acres of every 100 acres.

Will:
This will is transcribed with a date of 15 Nov 1778. November is scratched out and December is added in a different hand. But, it refers to John's daughter Elizabeth as Elizabeth Preddy. She did not marry Robert Preddy until 1783. Other wills listed in this book are probated in November term of court 1787 and appear to be written just before that.

All of this means that his death was most likely 1787 rather than 1778.
