H.W. Tennison was known as Walker. According to his great-granddaughter, he was the first of the line to be known as Walker, with a Walker in each succeeding generation. The reason he was named this was to remember the walk on the Trail of Tears. Supposedly, his mother was part Indian and she selected the name to remember her heritage.
According to a clipping from the Antlers American newspaper dated 11 Jun 1914, "H.W. Tennison died last Saturday morning. Burial was Sunday afternoon at Antlers Cemetery by WOW Lodge." However, his tombstone gives a date of 6 Jun 1914 instead of 4 Jun. Some sources list his birth as 7 March, others as 9 March.
