    Notes:

According to Judson Councill, Isaac is found in Knox Co., Tennessee as early as 1811. He and Susan were married in Roane Co., Tennessee. They moved from Tennessee to Jackson Co., Alabama, then to Madison Co., Alabama. Eventually, they moved on to Arkansas, where both died at the home of their son John in Franklin Co., Arkansas.

In order to figure out the Council family and its connection to the Hodges Councils in Alabama, I need to track its movements through Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas for this family and its descendants.

In the 1830 Census, the family is listed as 1 male 40-50, 1 female 40-50, 1 male 20-30, 2 males 10-15. Both girls are already out of the house at this point. Presumably, the male age 20-30 is Uriah. On page 333 of the 1830 census is Jesse Council, whose household includes 1 male 90-100 and 1 female 60-70 and no one else. This is a likely connection for Isaac's father.

In the 1840 Census, the family is listed as 1 male 50-60, 1 female 50-60, 1 male 20-30. Immediately next door is John Council(00011-00001). Chances are that this is the son John.

Some have suggested Isaac was born in Tennessee, but in the 1860 census, he reports as being from N. Carolina.

Unfortunately, census from Tennessee for 1800, 1810, 1820 are pretty much missing.

Over the time that we are looking for the Councils & Allisons, the area went from Green County, NC to State of Franklin to State of TN. And it appears that these folks were along the borders of Green, Knox, & Roane counties. Looks like the Allisons ended up in the part that became Roane but maybe the Councils were in Knox.

    Hypothesis for now: (2019-06-14)
Jesse Council is the father of Isaac. Jesse is married to Elizabeth. These two stay close together for several years.
Hodges, John, and Matthew may be other sons or brothers to Jesse. Hodges is married to Rachel.

    Misc:
Matthew & Isaac Council were arrested and tried by jury and convicted of trespass vi et armis and fined 25 cents each plus costs.

    Notes:

Based on the Uriah Allison / Nancy Cox book, it would be worthwhile to look closely at the Robert Allison facts, to separate out which are this Robert Allison, and which might be one of the other *three* Robert Allisons in the same place and time.

    SDAR-PATRIOT: Pvt, TN

Ordered that Robert ALLISON be overseer of the Public Road from PRIGMOORES Ferry to Muddy Creek & that Isham COX esquire Appoint the hands to work thereon. - Roane Co., Tennessee Road Orders

Some sources claim his birth and death as 1750 in Chester Co., NC and 1820 in Greene Co., TN. But better documented sources show otherwise.

Robert fought in the Revolution and was in the battle of King's Mountain.

It appears that there are two different Robert Allisons in the Greene County / Roane County area of Tennessee after the Revolution. One Robert appears to be older than this one, but it's not really easy to separate them.

NOTE: The above two deeds recorded from Washington Co and Greene Co NC date from the time before the establishment of Tennessee. Hence, their being located in NC. Moreover, there has been some controversy over the identity of Alexander / William Moore. I believe that the fact that two deeds registered on the same day showing different names for William and Alexander show that these two are different people.,probably brother rather than father and son, as some have suggested.

The identity of Alexander Moore is hard to pin down. He's sometimes called Alick, or Elick. Some people think there are references to him as William as well. Could be he was known by both names, or that there were two (or more) people with the names William and Alexander Moore. This makes him hard to place.

DEED: Deed Book 1 - p. 60 - 4 Aug 1789 - Indenture - Alexander Moore,Washington Co., N.C. and William Black, Greene Co., NC, 200 pounds pd,400 acres on Meadow Creek & adj Samuel Sherrel. Wit: George Gillaspie, Thomas Gillaspie

DEED: Deed Book 1 - p. 61 - 4 Aug 1789 - Indenture - William Moore,Washington Co., NC and Robert Allison, 100 pounds pd, tr on E side dryfork of Meadow Creek and adj Benjamin Crow, being 300 acres granted Moore, No. 544, 20 Sep 1787. Wit: Richard Wood, George Gillaspie.Reg. 15 Sep 1789
