In 1623/4, Temperance is listed in the muster of the household of William Farrar and Mistress Sisley Jordan. While definitive proof of her parentage is not available, all circumstantial evidence points to Sisley Jordan and her first husband as Temperance's parents.

It is not clear whether Temperance and John Browne had children.There is one possible son, a John Brown, who died before 1677.

She was in hospice care at North Hills Passavant Hospital after suffering from congestive heart failure, leaking heart valves, and kidney problems for some months. Over the past year, she has had several times when she was near death and roused to return home, each time a bit weaker than before. She died just 6 weeks shy of being married to Granddad for 66 years.

Richard Cocke was several times a member of the House of Burgesses and County Lieutenant of Henrico. He amassed considerable means for the times in which he lived. Planter and politician, his sons and grandsons at one time or another occupied nearly every office of dignity and profit in Henrico County.

Married to Elizabeth, Temperance Baley, and Mary Aston. Children were Thomas, Richard, William, Elizabeth with Temperance. Richard, John, William, Elizabeth with Mary.
