- Census: 16 Aug 1860, Winston, Mississippi, United States
Notes:
Based on his being missing from teh 1870 census and the ages of the youngest children, I would expect to find that Wiley died between 1862 and 1870, possibly in the Civil War. It also appears that the youngest child from the 1860 census has died.
Died:
Missing in 1870 census, probably has died.Wiley married Delila Huckaby about 1843 in South Carolina, United States. Delila (daughter of William Huckaby and Elizabeth) was born in 1821 in South Carolina, United States; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
3. Delila Huckaby was born in 1821 in South Carolina, United States (daughter of William Huckaby and Elizabeth); and died. Other Events and Attributes:

- Census: 28 Jun 1880, Noxubee, Mississippi, United States
Notes:
In 1840, she would still be a child in a house, I expect, since she married in 1843. In William Huckaby's home, there is a female that fits this age bracket.
Notes:
Married:
Based on the ages of the children in the census, I suspect they were married around 1840-1843. It seems like the rest of the family was born & married in South Carolina and then moved to Alabama.Children:
- Martha J. White was born in 1845 in Alabama, United States; and died.
- Serepta A. White was born in 1847 in Alabama, United States; and died.

Notes:
In William's estate, it lists his heirs. Generally, when the heirs are grandchildren, it lists the parent so that the shares match. But given there are 30 years between the oldest and youngest children, could the younger ones actually be grandchildren? Is there a possible reading of either William's or Elizabeth's estate that could hint at this?
It appears that there may be another son, Anderson, who died before William but left no surviving spouse or children.
Birth:
It is interesting that William and Elizabeth are listed as born in NC rather than SC. Most of the Huckabys and allied families seem to have come from SC. Not sure about Robert, the presumed father of William.
Census:
Enumeration:
Free White Male 10-14: 1
Free White Male 15-19: 1
Free White Male 60-69: 1
Free White Female 15-19: 1
Free White Female 50-59: 1
Slaves Male < 10: 3
Slaves Male 10-23: 1
Slaves Female < 10: 1
Slaves Female 10-23: 1
William is enumerated as William Huckaby Sen, just a few lines down from William Huckaby. There is also another William S Huckaby in the county (as wel as Wade Huckaby).
This indictes that he was born between 1770-1780, so the 1780 from the 1850 Census is reasonable. However, having children who are only 10-15 years old seems unlikely.
Census:
Census lists him as 70 years old, born in NC, owning $400 of real estate.
But an age of 57 calls into question William B. Huckaby as a son since he is enumerated as 57 years old in that same census. If he is a son, I would have expected an age around perhaps 47 instead of 57.
Residence:
When William purchases land in Noxubee County, the deed says he is from Pickens County, Alabama.
Possessions:
Paid $1.25 tax on his land. Jackson Huckaby owns the NW 1/4 of this section, valued at $1280.
Probate:
Petition to sell real estate to equitably divide it.
