But given there are 30 years between the oldest and youngest children, could the younger ones actually be grandchildren? William is enumerated as William Huckaby Sen, just a few lines down from William Huckaby. There is also another William S Huckaby in the county (as wel as Wade Huckaby).

This indictes that he was born between 1770-1780, so the 1780 from the 1850 Census is reasonable. However, having children who are only 10-15 years old seems unlikely.

Census lists him as 70 years old, born in NC, owning $400 of real estate.

But an age of 57 calls into question William B. Huckaby as a son since he is enumerated as 57 years old in that same census. If he is a son, I would have expected an age around perhaps 47 instead of 57.

When William purchases land in Noxubee County, the deed says he is from Pickens County, Alabama.

Possessions:
Paid $1.25 tax on his land. Jackson Huckaby owns the NW 1/4 of this section, valued at $1280.
