Listed as 1 year old in 1860 Census. Mason's Membership card says 1858. Birth record in town list says 1857, but it's mixed in with some other delayed recording. Could be 1856, could be 1857, could be 1858. I tend to believe 1858 since it fits with all of the census records.

629 An obituary for Ira in the Washington Telegraph says that he was born in Washington, Arkansas.

Some sources claim that Ira was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Others claim Washington, Hempstead Co., Arkansas. However, in both the 1870 census (where he was a child) and the 1880 census (where he was a teenager), Ira is listed as from Alabama. Likewise, by 1900, he reports himself as born in Alabama. So, I suspect he was born in Alabama but grew up in Washington. The family story is that they moved to Arkansas right after the Civil War. Don't know why or when.

Anna is working as a clerk in a hotel. Perhaps she is out here to be near Carl.
Bailey, Anne Evelina (I563)

646 Another Fire
Prescott, October 28 -
The barn of Dr. A.D. Wren, a prominent citizen of Albany Township living eight or ten miles south of Prescott, was burned yesterday together with all his corn (500 bushels) and between 4,000 and 5,000 bundles of fodder.

The fire is believed to have been incendiary in origin. The Doctor and all his family were in Prescott except his son Willard who went to the neighboring Postoffice after dinner leaving no one at home. There was no insurance.

Dr. Wren lives near the edge of the cyclone district that had all its crop prospect destroyed last spring and he was very active at that time in efforts to relieve the sufferers. He is a foremost citizen, a prominent Democrat, and wields an influence in his neighborhood.

Respectfully, E.R.A.
Wren, Alonzo Dossey (I6659)

647 Anson is listed as a porter at the shoe factory. He lists that he his married rather than widowed or divorced, but Clara is not a part of the family at this point. Jenkins, Anson Witherell (I7073)

648 Anson is listed as widowed. This explains the confusion in the 1930 census. He *was* married, but was currently widowed.

Rotha is listed as his ward, since she was actually the niece of his deceased wife.

Also in the home is a boarder, the son of Russian immigrants, and a house keeper.
Jenkins, Anson Witherell (I7073)

649 Apparently unmarried Little, Ruth (I9732)

650 Apparently, after his death, his oldest three children selected or had appointed John Faver Sr as guardian. Presumably they may have lived with him. The younger three by 1841 were in Mississippi and had a guardian appointed there. That means that they must have moved there, maybe with their mother. Faver, John (I2875)
