4601 The census says that 9 of Jane's 10 children are alive in 1910. There is an unidentified grandson, Leslie Hare, in the family in 1910. Gann, John William (I3082)

4602 The census says that in 1910 6 of her 7 children were alive. Jones, Elzenia Mildred (I3989)

4603 The consolidated tombstone in the Wren Family Cemetery says that Sarah was born in 1828 rather than 1838.

BIRTH: IGI 7132826,95
Wren, Sarah Ann Catherine (I6751)

4604 The D. is likely for Daniel. Myers, John D. (I7114)

4605 The dates for this guy with respect to his parents don't make good sense. David, Abraham (I2365)

4606 The death date has also been recorded as 2 Feb 1819, but the estate papers clearly say 1814. Miller, John (I4650)

4607 The death index says she was born in Duxbury as does the Hooper Genealogy. Likewise, Hooper Genealogy indicates her birth was 4 Nov 1812 Hooper, Maria (I7076)

4608 The deed William executed on this date gives his residence as Charlotte County. Bailey, William H. (I698)

4609 The deed, made in Wilson County, but recorded in Laurens, lists all of John Miller's children. It says that Sally Miller married John Cason and Rebecca Miller married Joseph Cason. Miller, Sarah (I4658)

4610 The deeds from 1765 to 1768 from William Hill to his sons appear to be a different William Hill, perhaps the one who has 417 acres in the land tax books. But, it appears that the William & Elizabeth who are parents of John, William, etc. are different people. Hill, William (I9524)

4611 The eight civil engineering graduates of teh University of Arkansas of the class of 1916 have obtained positions at salaries ranging from $60 to $90 a month and expenses. M.T. Higgs of DeQueen with the Iron Mountain Railway, Little Rock. Higgs, Morton Thomas (I3538)

4612 The executive committee of the Worlds Fair board has named the subcommittees that are to assist them in the laudable undertaking of arranging for a splendid exhibition at the St. Louis World's Fair in 1903.

Press comittee - Frank Anderson (chairman); Carl Schuppe, R.L. Rogers, J.W. Higgs, G.R. Michael, G.C. Yoes, C.R. Cordell.
Higgs, John William (I3534)

4613 The fact that Margaret is named as Robert's Executrix is a good case for her to be his wife. Family: Robert Jemison, II / Margaret Kirkham (F821)

4614 The fact that she is listed as Jane Reed Miller in this deed makes me skeptical that this is our family. Miller, Jane (I9758)

4615 The faculty for the Idabel Public School has, with possibly one exception, been chosen and assigned as follows:
Mrs. J.W. Higgs, 7th grade
Cason, Eliza Johnson (Lida) (I1492)

4616 The family in this house is a bit confusing in 1850. There are these people:
William, age 71
Hanah, age 68 (wife)
A.C. Simson (f), age 40
Mary E Simson (f) age 15
Francis M Simson (m), age 10
C.C. Simson (m) age 3

I suspect that A.C. is a daughter of William and his first wife, or else the daughter of Hanah and her first husband, and the children are A.C.'s children.
Vincent, William M. (I6296)

4617 The family is only a couple of doors down from Margaret Farley Boyle's older brother Bernard. Boyle, Francis William (I7016)

4618 The file called U.S. Revolutionary War Pensioners also includes regular army pensions and invalid pensions issued shortly after the War of 1812. Hence Abner occurs on this list. Here, he is shown being paid his pension of $8 / month starting in May 1815. In March 1827, his account was transferred from the West Tennessee Pension Office to the Alabama office. Dickson, Abner (I8179)

4619 The first name is almost certainly wrong. The Sumner County census is very hard to read here. Need to check against the US Federal Census Deshazo, Minarah (I10229)

4620 The first offence since our arrival is of John Billington ... and is this month convented before the whole company for his contempt of the Captain's [Myles Standish] lawfull commands with opprobrious speeches, for which he is adjudged to have his neck and heels tied together. But upon humbling himself and craving pardon, it being the first offence, he is forgiven. Billington, John (I8708)

4621 The following persons were licensed as Innholders, and posted bond with sureties: Plymouth - Jerusha Ellis (19: 36-40) Bryant, Jerusha (I8625)

4622 The following roster of the men in the First Battery, reserve officers training camp, Fort Roots was obtained from the headwquarters of the battery: Jere W. Higgs, Idabel Okla. Higgs, Jere Will (I3531)

4623 The Hames family record notes her birth as 1866. Hames, Mattie H. (I3260)

4624 The Hames family record puts her birth and death in 1886 rather than 1887. Hames, Rowena Pearl (I3269)

4625 The Hames family record says Fernando died in 1879. Other sources say 1863. I suspect 1879 is correct. Hames, Fernando M. (I3242)

4626 The History of Methodism in Arkansas lists J.W. Deshazo in a list of pastors who served the Waldron Circuit. However, this list is ambiguous in that it says that the list is for is for all the pastors who servied this circuit, beginning with 1880. He is the 13th pastor on the list, so this could mean he was there after 1880. If these were annual positions, he would have been there in 1893-1894. However, if some where shorter than a year and others longer, it could have been any time prior to about 1900. Deshazo, Rev. John Walker (I2502)

4627 The History of Roane County, Tennessee gives his name as Thomas, but it appears that better documented sources claim him as Samuel.

Allison, Samuel (I187)

4628 The History of Texas where this appears says F.B. Bailey went to Franklin county in 1837, but Franklin was not created until 1838 and was carved out of Crawford County. Bailey, Francis Baker (I602)

4629 The Independent Post, nee "Republican Venture" has again made a change, J.W. Higgs having retired from the management and G.O. Yoes having again taken the editorial chair. Higgs, John William (I3534)

4630 The international marriage index lists this as 1798. Clearly, it has to be by 3 Mar 1798 when the oldest child is born. But since there are 2 women listed in the 1790 census, I feel like this is mostly likely just before that census. Probably around 1788.

Notes for Alletha Dossey (Dorsey) (Betty Wren)
!MARR: Circuit Court Halifax Co.Va Bk.19 p12
Family: George Wren / Alletha Dossey (F229)

4631 The marriage certificate says Carl T. Byrd, but I can believe that it was really Carl J. Byrd. It also says he was born 10 Feb 1929 which conveniently makes him 21 instead of actually 18. Likewise, Evelyn's says she was born in 1931 instead of 1932. Byrd, Carl James (I9808)

4632 The marriage license is indexed as Otaway Bailey. The Marriage record says Chery S Bailey. No image available to cross reference, but all the rest of the data says this is the same Otway L. Family: Otway Licepious Bailey / Bettie F. Sanders (F3158)

4633 The marriage record calls Marie by Mary A. Savant, as does the 1880 census. Family: James R. Graves Cason / Marie Louise Savant (F460)

4634 The marriage record for John Boyle and Margaret Farley (her daughter) says McLaughlin. The death record and other records for her children say Sheridan.

Her death record has an odd notation that calls out her maiden name along with her married name.
Sheridan, Catherine (I7014)

4635 The marriage record shows her as Eva Gillespie, age 33. I presume that this means she was married before. Family: George Wesley Hudson / Eva Kingwell (F383)

4636 The organization of the University of Arkansas battalion of the American Girls Legion has been fully completed. One hundred and fifty-nine university girls have enrolled and two companies have been formed from this number. Regular drill will be had every Saturday afternoon. Lida Higgs, Idabel, Okla. Higgs, Lida (I3535)

4637 The proceeds of the sale of John Waterson's property was delivered to his heirs by order of the court. Faver, John (I2875)

4638 The record says that he also was a part of the Co I, 39th Infantry, but this may be in error.

He was granted an invalid pension, application number 1428207 under the law of 1917, certificate number 1179.926
Bailey, Carl Everett (I571)

4639 The reporter this morning received a copy of the DeQueen Democrat, J.W. Higgs, editor, publisher, and proprietor. Mr. Higgs is well known in newspaper circles here, he having published several papers in this county. It is the wish of his friends that his new "venture" may prove successful. Higgs, John William (I3534)

4640 The Republican Venture (weekly) succeeds the Daily Venture at Van Buren. The officers are: President, J. H Butler; vice-president, J.E. Jarvis; secretary, G.C. Yoes; treasurer, J.Y Yoes. The executive committee is composed of John M. Weaver, J.W. Higgs, H.H. Dill, with J.W. Higgs as editor-in-chief. They announce that "we will advocate twentieth-century ideas and keep abreast o the times; we will censure where we find fault, and applaud where we find approbation. Along wiht the more sober and weightly affairs we shall endeavor to furnish some amusement and instruction for the home and fireside." Higgs, John William (I3534)

4641 The sheriff sells property of the estate of A.B. Shehee to William I Bailey of Jefferson County. A.B. Shehee had entered into a contract to sell the land before he died. Since there was a balance still due, the land had to be sold to pay the balance. Shehee, Aylesbury (I5568)

4642 The Social Security claim made for Eva Lou Hudson records that she could have been also known as Eva Lou Denton, Eva Lou Moore, and Eva Loucinda Bennett. It has her birth date off by 2 years and puts her birth place in the wrong county. It also lists her mother as Eva B Kingwell instead of Kimball. Hudson, Eva Lou (I3738)

4643 The statewide birth index says she was born in South Abington. Her death certificate says Whitman. The records closest to the event all say Abington or South Abington. Hooper, Alice Sarah (I7077)

4644 The statewide index to births lists a Charles (twin) born in 1879 in Boston, volume 306, page 23. The only other twin born in 1879 in Boston is Martha W, also on the same page of the registry. However, these are the children of Citifore and Mary Ross, a black couple.

Though, I don't necessarily believe a lot else about Charles, on both his WWI and WWII draft cards, he gives his birthday at 18 Mar 1879 and is generally consistent in saying he was born in Boston.
Ross, Charles Franklin (I5410)

4645 The Texas Baptist of Dallas says: That the Rev. J.H. Cason has been called to the Jacksboro and Graham churches Cason, Rev. Jeremiah Harris (I1521)

4646 The Texas Death Certificate looks very much like this is Richard Abraham Bailey. However, there is not that much to go on. The informant got the birthplace nearly right and the birth date nearly right but knew nothing of his parents. Bailey, Richard Abraham (I666)

4647 The town records record his name as John. But the Hingam birth registry has John corrected into Joshua. Beal, Joshua (I9389)

4648 The transcribed marriage record says the marriage was 3 Aug , but the license was 8 Aug. One of the two must be wrong. Family: Rev. David Evans Thompson / Elizabeth Ann P. Bridges (F222)

4649 The unit was later known as Co. A Infantry Regt, Holcombe Legion of South Carolina Volunteers.

The Holcombe Legion of South Carolina Volunteers consisted of an infantry regiment and a cavalry battalion, was organized November 21, 1861.
Scruggs, Richard Martin (I5512)

4650 The unpublished obituary for J.W. Deshazo reports that he and Mary Phelps married in 1854. Family: Rev. John Walker Deshazo / Mary Frances Elizabeth Phelps (F809)
